¿What is it?
BASC “Coffee Chapter” is an association without encouragement of gain of gremial character, that seeks to defend the interests of the coffee exporters and all its logistic chains to facilitate the international marketing of the grain in a trustful and safe market, through programs that require rigorous standards in security to avoid the contamination of the coffee loads with narcotics, contraband, and other illicits.
This association is supported by foreign and national authorities, among them Bureau Of Customs and Border Protection of the USA., the General Direction of Customs and Indirect Rights of France, the Special Customs and Taxes Department of the State Agency of Tributary Administration of Spain and the General Direction of Customs of Dominican Republic, to implement security standards in the chain of International commerce.
Nowadays, the BASC organization has adopted the C-TPAT patterns (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) used by most importers in the USA.
¿Why is it important for us and for our customers?
This certification is important for us and most of all for our clients, because it shows that we have high security standards in our processes as well as direct and permanent contact with the national and internationals agencies and authorities that cooperate with the program. In other words, our logistic chain can be considered as safe and it facilitates the processes of exportation and importation in international commerce according to the institutions that support the program.
This certificate is a letter of presentation for the current and potential customers, because according to the security programs in the international commerce, the idea is to block the logistics chains of legal loads from contamination with illicits..
